Club Rules and Terms & Conditions
Introduction
To help you get the best out of Saddleworth Tennis Club and to understand our responsibilities to you and your responsibilities to us, please read these rules and terms and conditions.
Saddleworth Tennis Club is part of the multi sports club Saddleworth Cricket, Bowling & Tennis Club (SCBTC) and as such members of the tennis club are also bound by the rules of SCBTC which can be downloaded from: SCBTC Governing document
Membership
All membership applications are made online using the ClubSpark website hosting Saddleworth Cricket, Bowling & Tennis Club at Saddleworth Tennis Club Membership
Payment is made by credit card or direct debit online at the time of registration. No membership will be active until payment has been received.
Annual membership is from the 1st April until the 31st March the following year. All annual membership applications are either for 12, 11, 10, 9, 8, 7 or 6 months depending on the prorated fee at the time of application. Annual membership can only be cancelled when the annual renewal becomes due on the 1st April
Direct debit membership is for 12 months from date of joining and is for a minimum of 12 months. After 12 months membership can be cancelled at any time by giving 1 month notice to the Club Secretary. Any non-payment of monthly fees will terminate membership immediately.
All memberships are non-refundable and non-transferable.
All annual memberships will be deemed expired 14 days after non-payment of any renewal payment.
All direct debit memberships will be deemed expired 7 days after non-payment of any renewal payment.
Tennis Court Bookings
All court bookings are made on our ClubSpark web page. All members can book 7 days in advance, 2 slots of 2 hours in increments of 30 minutes, each day.
Use of the Courts
Flat soled, Non-marking tennis shoes are to be worn at all times on the tennis courts. Players will be asked to leave the courts if the club deems the shoes inappropriate.
Food and hot drinks are not allowed on the tennis courts at any time and cold drinks must be in a sealed container. Chewing gum is strictly forbidden.
It is the responsibility of a player to decide whether a court is fit to be played on. This especially applies during wet or wintery conditions
Guests
A member may invite one guest a week to play once a week.
Members should encourage guests who want to play on a regular basis to join the club
General Rules
Bad language is not to be used in any area of the tennis club facilities.
Smoking is not permitted in any area of the tennis club facilities.
Under no circumstances are videos or photographs to be taken on the tennis club facilities without prior written consent from the Club Secretary and on completion of a consent form.
Children under the age of 13 must be accompanied and supervised by an adult at all times whilst using the tennis clubs facilities unless attending a coaching session or club activity led by a club coach or official. It is the responsibility of the accompanying adult to ensure the safety of their children at all times whilst on the tennis club facilities.
The tennis committee reserves the right to alter programmes and court bookings or organise events as they see fit.
Open Access & Equality
The tennis club operates an open access policy and is committed to the equal treatment for all members, visitors, guests, volunteers and coaches. The tennis club committee requires that the aforementioned persons abide by and adhere to the relevant equalities legislation, namely the Equality Act 2010.
Liability
Saddleworth Tennis Club and its officials shall be under no obligation and cannot accept responsibility in respect of the death and injury of members, their children, visitors, guests or volunteers or any loss or damage to their property whilst on the facilities of the tennis club and on the grounds, car parks, paths and all external areas of Saddleworth Cricket, Bowling & Tennis Club, however such death, loss, injury or damages may be caused.
We cannot accept liability or pay compensation for cancellation or reduction of service due to acts outside of our control.
Any amendments to these rules and terms and conditions will be advised with a notice displayed on the club website.
