Frequently Asked Questions
When are the Courts open?
Every day from 7.30am until 8.30pm. Please note some courts may be booked for activities or events.
How do I add members of my household to my account?
Go to your account, select “member info” and click “add member”, then enter their name/email address. Please remember to add yourself along with your household members. If you do not, you will not be able to book courts as your name will not be on the system for bookings.
Do I have to be a resident of Higham Ferrers to join?
No, everyone is welcome.
I only want to play once or twice, what can I do?
That’s fine! We offer casual Pay as you Play Tennis charged at £5 per court per hour. Simply register, book and pay for your court. Enter the pin access code detailed on your confirmation email at the gate to the tennis courts
Do I get a separate Parks tennis pass for each person in the household?
No - you only need one membership per household that any of you can use to access the courts.
Once I have an Annual Tennis Pass, do I still have to pay court fees?
No - all court fees are included once you have your annual pass. Court fees are payable on each occasion if you opt for the pay as you play option.
Once I have an Annual Tennis pass do I still have to book the courts that I want to use?
Yes, you will still need to book the tennis courts using the online booking system to ensure they are available.
Once I have booked my court, how do I get access?
Once you have booked your court, you will receive your booking confirmation email
Your booking confirmation will include a 6-digit PIN which you can then enter into the keypad at the gate (the PIN will be active 15 minutes before the booked session, throughout the booked session and then until 5 minutes after the booked session has ended).
It is always useful to have your booking confirmation handy for inspection purposes.
What do I do if my PIN doesn't work?
Please double check that you are trying to use your PIN within the timeframe that the PIN is active (please see section above). If you are, please call the telephone number that is on your booking confirmation during office hours (01933 312075) and you will be provided with an alternative PIN for that booking.
If I have purchased an Annual Tennis Pass, am I tied into a long-term contract?
No - you initially pay for a year’s membership and if you want to carry on using the courts after that, you can pay for each year's renewal as you go.
If I have purchased an Annual Tennis Pass, when does it start?
The membership will be activated when you register your email address and create a password for a booking account online.
What happens if I purchase a pass half way through the year? Do I pay a reduced fee?
No, there is no reduced fee. You will always receive a full year from the date you activate your account.
Can I get a refund if I want to leave part way through my Annual Tennis Pass?
No, once you have joined and paid for your membership this will last a year and not be part refunded for any reason.
Can I hire equipment?
Unfortunately we do not offer that facility.
How do I cancel a booking?
You can cancel your booking online. If you have any problems with this, please give us a call on 01933 312075 during office hours (Mon- Fri 9am-5pm). Out of courtesy please cancel as soon as you know so others can play.
Why am I unable to book the court as the main account holder?
This may be due to fact you have not added your name as a member along with other members on your membership when you signed up. This is because the system sees you as the main contact rather than an actual member of the package.
Is there a local team that I can join?
Yes absolutely. The Ferrers and Rushden Tennis Club train on these courts on Sundays all throughout the year and Wednesday evenings during Spring/Summer. Click "Ferrers and Rushden Tennis Club" to find out more info,
