Safeguarding and Welfare

Saltburn Tennis Club is committed to providing a safe and inclusive tennis environment at our club. Our Welfare Officer and committee members are responsible for ensuring that the wellbeing of children and adults who may be at risk are prioritised. If you have any concerns about a child, young person or adult at risk you should raise this with our Welfare Officer (Mary Walker -01642 483309).

Durham & Cleveland Tennis League Awards, Hardwick Hall, Saturday 1st February 2025

This years County Awards evening was held at the start of February 

We were well represented on the night with members of the committee, men’s and ladies teams all present.  We submitted three nominations, and we were delighted that all three were recognised by the county for their contributions to the club and tennis in general and we received awards for the folloiwng:

Junior Volunteer Category - Highly Commended Award

Jack Hill, aged 17, received this for his involvement in the club.  Jack is a great asset to our club, he recently achieved his Level 1 Coaching Certificate and assists with our Junior coaching sessions.  He also plays regularly for the Men's A team and he finished 3rd out of 15 players within the A team rankings within Division 5

Cathie Sabin Volunteer of the Year Award

Maggie Smith, our retired Club Secretary, received this award as recognition for all the time and effort she put into the role and her energy and passion in helping the club move forward

Club of The Year Award - Highly Commended Award

The club had a strong nomination for this award , detailing our growing membership, improved facilities, coaching sessions and leauge success, the judges acknowledged  these efforts and awarded us with Highly Commended status
