Scone Tennis Club is a friendly community-centered club and is located in Abbey Road, Scone, PH2 6RU. All ages and standards of player are very welcome and we try to provide every member with the opportunity to play whether it be a social game or a competitive match. We have three floodlit courts of porous tarmacadam, which allows us to play all the year round. There is a good sized clubhouse with a kitchen and changing rooms, toilets and access for our floodlights. Car parking is available on the adjacent roads.
Please note that court use should be booked online. Those members wishing to book courts for social play should note that they will be able to book for one two hour session per day, up to seven days in advance.
Non-members are very welcome to use our courts. The cost will be £4 per court per hour for play up to 6pm on weekdays and £5 per court per hour for evenings and weekends. All courts have to be booked online, which can be done only one day in advance, and payment will be taken at that point by the system. (Any non members who would like to join the Club would be very welcome. Just click on the Membership tab above and choose the appropriate package for you.)
Spring Update & Preparation for the new season:-
It is now the time of year when the new tennis summer season is approaching and to get it off to a great start the Committee hosted two Open Days - the first one was the STC Open Day on Saturday, 27th April 2024 and was open to all - non members and members. It was a free oppportunity to come along and give tennis a go, non-members were especially welcome, all ages and abilities. The day was run by Zoe Gulson, our new coach, with activities throughout the day. We had a good turn out of local children and their parents and were all having great fun when unfortunately a heavy shower of hail arrived followed by torrential rain, meaning an early finish.
The second Open Day was the STC Opening Day for Members only, on Sunday, 28th April, and was a social event for members only to meet up and renew friendships as well as shake off the cobwebs in preparation for the new season. Again the weather was not kind but those who came along to play had good fun and enjoyed their tea afterwards!
On an ongoing basis :-
Social Media: We try to keep the STC Website and Facebook page updated as best we can and welcome any information that members think would be relevant for the website. If anyone has any other ideas to help improve or grow our Club we welcome those and they can be fed in through any of the Committee members.
We are a Scottish Charity, SCO33915, and as an active community resource we try to cater for all ages and standards.
