COVID-19 VIRUS UPDATE - September 2020
Contact information requirements: Please note that to comply with new mandatory Government/LTA regulations from now on ALL members and non members booking a court (the "lead" ) must keep a record for 21 days of the other(s) playing on that court during the booking. If any of the players on court during your booking are not registered as a club contact through our website, the lead MUST be able to give contact details to the authorities. Where the time of arrival and departure of a player is different from that on the court booking sheet, this should also be recorded. Contact details for all those who are on our club contact list are available to the authorities through Douglas Gibson, Club Secretary.
Floodlights: As the nights are drawing in the use of floodlights by members is now becoming necessary. Please use the sanitiser provided inside the Clubhouse door after switching on and off.
For the avoidance of doubt the Clubhouse remains closed, except for access to the aforementioned lights and the first aid boxes, which are immediately inside the Clubhouse door.
The latest advice from our governing body regarding playing tennis is to be found on the front page of the LTA site https://www.lta.org.uk/
COVID-19 VIRUS UPDATE - August 2020
There have been no further significant changes for tennis venues with the exception of slight loosening of coaching restrictions. Daniel Reed, Coach, has emailed out to members and non-members who have been using the courts to see if there would be any interest in coaching for both children and adults. See the Coaching page for details.
COVID-19 VIRUS UPDATE 12 July 2020
Tennis activity can continue to take place at Scone on a restricted basis, with updated guidelines in place, after the First Minister announced the further relaxing of lockdown last week. As before all use of our courts has to be booked online through this website. Members and non-members can book by clicking on the Court Booking tab above, if you are not registered with this website you will be asked to do so at the time of booking. Currently members can book from up to three days in advance and non-members from one day in advance.
The big change is that doubles play is allowed between four players, all from different households, provided that physical distancing – the two metre rule – is kept to as much as possible.
The LTA and Tennis Scotland have developed an updated set of practical guidelines for tennis venues, coaches and players to follow so that tennis can be played in Scotland in a way consistent with the route map for moving out of lockdown. The full guidelines can be downloaded below.
The Committee have updated our full guidance for members and non-members and this can be found under the Events tab above. In the meantime the Clubhouse continues to be shut with only access to emergency first aid equipment but no access to toilet facilities.
