Fundraising

Our Crowd Funding project to raise money for  2 new syntehtic clays to replace the 30 year old courts 7-8 (which were often out of action in the winter due to rain) has now gone live.  This project will go ahead whatever in September this year but without the Crown Funding money our finances will be extremely strecthed and any  project overspend (as everyone knows that often happens on building projects) will need to be covered by committee members very kindly extending us interest free loans.  Also we want our finances going in to next year to be in excellent shape so we can vigourously look at fllodlights again (almost certainly first for courts 7-8). There have been a number of promising developments recently on this front, notably Tweener lights which the SPLTC committee has tried out at Limpsfield (good quality, cheaper than conventional LED lights and easier to get planning permission for). Continuing with our current winter arrangement at a neighbouring faility whose lights are very old, is becoming less satisfactory each year.

Sports England are encouraging fund raising  this way so clubs hopefully get wider publisity. Sport England have pledged £6,800 to our campaign provided we raise £10,200 ourselves and get at  least 100 different supporters.

Donations can be gift aided (see below).

So do please support the project which ends on the 23rd August if you can. IF EVERYONE DONATES £35+ (as they think appropriate) WE WILL EASILY REACH OUR TARGET.
(Tip: when you make a donation you can set the paltform tip to zero by clicking on custom amount; they get 2.5% of all the money anyway).

Many thanks to members Brian Cookson, Stephen Popham, Milos Kmet, our Coach Nathan and Gillian Edwards for donating items or services for the 'rewards section'. Many thanks to the firms Winning Margin (a local sports retailer) ,  Vujon Indian, Addiscombe  a local Indian restaurant, Fishing Breaks a fly fishing school and oraganiser of fly fishing trips and holidays and Shirley Dental Practice, for their donations.

In September 2020 we became a CASC  which means if you donate and are currently paying UK income (or capital gains) tax then we get an extra 25% on top of your donation from HMRC if you  Gift Aid  your payment.
