Saturday Club Sessions

Saturday club afternoons have traditionally been a very popular club session with all our members.  It is an opportunity to play some social tennis, get to know both new and old members and finish off in the clubhouse with tea and cake.  As the weather gets warmer, and the grass courts open, this will often mean the bar will be open and the tennis will continue into the evening.

The new season starts on the 1st April and our first Saturday session with tea will be on the 2nd April as the usual start time of 2pm.  As with all club sessions please register through clubspark.  This allows the organiser to prepare for the session and the organiser of the tea to plan for the right number of people.  People who turn up on the day will get a chance to play but may have a short wait to be fitted into the pairs.   All Saturday afternoon club sessions are for members of all abilities and you are also welcome to just come down to join the tea!

The first ‘tea’ will be provided by committee members.  After that we will be looking for volunteers and there will be a sign-up sheet for this available from Saturday.  Lesley Lockwood will be coordinating the rota.  Generally, we will be looking for one or two members to commit to providing some sandwiches / cake on a Saturday.

There is a small charge for members who take part in the tea.  This year all the money we make from our Saturday afternoon teas will be donated to the crisis in Ukraine.  This means eating cake will also be doing some good!!

If you have any questions then please contact Steve Pearce, Peter Paes or Lesley Lockwood.  We hope to see many of you at the Saturday club sessions.
