The Men’s Doubles, kindly sponsored by Scott Construction, took place on Tuesday 23rd September and saw eight pairs battle it out for a place in the finals.
The event followed a compass draw format, giving each pair at least two matches during the evening. This led to plenty of competitive play and some truly high-quality tennis.
The two seeded pairs – Patrick Lodge & Sam Perryman and Tom Hunt & Matthew Harris – successfully navigated their way through the draw and secured their places in the finals on 12th October.
Meanwhile, the playoff for 3rd and 4th place proved to be just as fiercely contested, with Mike Cox & Sam Boddam-Whetham overcoming Richard Morley & Neil Scott to claim the bragging rights.
The Plate competition also delivered some excitement, particularly the clash between Payman Fathi & Charlie Hopkins and Tom Craig & Oswin Bakker, which went right down to a deciding tie-break.
