Junior coaching

Tennis is a great game for youngsters and with the right introduction and support from a good coach it can be the start of a great journey. Tennis is not the easiest of sports to learn so it is important to start off the correct way. The LTA supports youngsters through their Tennis For Kids programmes that are offered at many club venues throughout the UK. The programme caters for 4-11 year olds and is advertised on the LTA 's own web-site under "Tennis For Kids". These courses run for six weeks with one hour coaching each week as an introduction to the game, parents are expected to be on court with their child and support their childs learning with ball skills practice at home from week to week.

We are part of the Tennis For Kids programme and run regular courses in South East Cornwall.

Progression from the Tennis For Kids courses is rapid and junior players are invited to join regular age/ability programmes. As players grow and improve they will be encouraged to enter competitions/tournaments and supported on to County trials.

Advanced coaching/preparation for competitions for 11-18 year olds is also offered and players can play team tennis in the Plymouth league when appropriate.
