Playing Times at Strathblane Tennis Club
*** COURT BOOKING FOR MEMBERS AND VISITORS IS ONLINE ONLY ***
General
Strathblane Tennis Club members enjoy social tennis at set times of the week . At other times, the courts may be booked online (free for members).
The courts are usable Mondays - Saturdays 9 am till 10.30 pm and Sundays 10 am till 10.30 pm, with restrictions as below. Floodlights are operated by a coin meter. Floodlights can be used Mondays-Saturdays (not Sundays) from 2pm until closing time. Visitors without a key to the clubhouse will not be able to access the coin meter without prior arrangement.
Adult Playing Times
From 7 pm onwards adult play takes precedence over junior play, but juniors of a suitable standard are encouraged to join in with the adults (and our "suitable standard" is really not high!)
We encourage members to use the various WhatsApp groups to coordinate social play. Subject to level of interest, the traditional Club Times are:
- Monday evenings from around 7pm
- Tuesday evenings from around 7 pm (Women)
- Thursday evenings from around 7 pm (Men)
- Friday mornings from 11am-1pm and
- Saturday afternoons from 2.30 - 5 pm.
Family Playing Time
- Some parents of younger children have designated Sunday mornings - outwith coaching blocks - for play - again this can be coordinated via WhatsApp.
Parent members: your children are welcome to stay around the club on Saturday afternoon, while you enjoy the adult social tennis, subject to proper behaviour and supervision. (The club is not responsible for the care of children at these times)
Junior Playing Times:
(The club is not responsible for the care of children at these times - supervised junior sessions may be arranged in future, watch this space)
Mon-Thurs --------------- 9 am till 6 pm*
Fri -----------------------9-11; 1pm - 3.30pm; 3.30-6pm* outwith coaching blocks
Saturday -------------- 9 am till 2 pm*
Sunday ----------------- 10 am onwards* (except on coaching days)
* very occasionally adult matches may be scheduled for these times. If this is the case, it will be visible in the booking sheet.
We would also like to provide regular sessions for all junior members but this depends on a few volunteers willing to lead and supervise! Information on this and other activities will be posted in the clubhouse window and in the calendar below.
An accompanying parent/carer is welcome to play with their junior member, when there are no suitable partners for them to play with.
School Holiday Pass
The School Holiday Pass allows a junior to play during the daytime on weekdays only, for the duration of the school summer holidays.
