Sway Lawn Tennis Club

Established in 1984, the Sway Lawn Tennis Club celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2024 with an anniversary tournament, which has now become an annual event. We are a friendly and welcoming local club serving residents of Sway and surrounding towns and villages who come to Sway for its friendly club atmosphere. We cater for all age groups and have activities during the day and evenings, and have junior camps for ages 5-16 during school holidays.

In conjunction with Sway Tennis Academy we have 3 excellent courts with carpet surfacing and floodlights, an additional hard surface court without floodlights, and a junior mini court. We recently upgraded our lighting on the three main courts to LED which are currently free to the user.

We have around 150 members and are located at Jubilee Fields on Station Road. Our clubhouse is shared with other local clubs and the parish council. The building allows us to provide various social activities including a weekly supper club, BBQs, and host other teams after matches. The building offers comfortable seating with a fine view of court action, and it has a kitchen, changing rooms, and toilet facilities.

A regular schedule of tennis activities is open to members, including regular club mix-in sessions during the day and evening, coaching, regular tournaments, and cardio tennis.

The club enters Mens, Ladies and Mixed Doubles teams in the Dorset LTA league. In the summer, there is also a Ladies Over 60s team.

Visitors are welcome to play. There is a fee to be paid by each non-member when booking a court.
