Tennis Xpress Beginners Tennis

  • Who is it for? never hit a ball beginners, very rusty rackets

  • No racket, no problem*: I can loan rackets

  • What is it: learning tennis from scratch, using low compression (green) balls to ensure fast success. Most players can confidently play matches with similar level players by the end of a 6 week course.

  • Current sessions:

    • Monday 12noon from 26th May.

    • Wednesday 1pm from 27th May

Cardio tennis

  • Who is it for? ALL standards

  • What is it? Fast paced drills, non-competitive game play to music. Low compression balls used to maximise enjoyment for all. Expect to hit lots of balls and run a lot.

  • Current sessions:

    • Wednesday 12noon from 3rd June

Improvers

  • Who is it for? Players that can get a serve in the box and maintain a short rally from the baseline

  • What is it? Develop you from “getting the ball over the net” to controlling points with tactics and improved technique. Game based doubles and singles lessons.

    • Monday 1pm 1st June

Intermediate

  • Who is it for? Players should be able to serve consistently, control the direction of a rally from the baseline and have a good understanding of the rules of tennis.

  • What is it? Game based lessons to help you chose the right shots to build points in singles and doubles to win. Honing your technique to ensure the outcome meets your tactical intent.

Advanced

  • Who is it for? Players should play competitive matches, be able place serves at pace and control points.

  • What is it? Developing your match play skills to deal with a range of opponents by choosing the right tactics whilst developing your consistency, depth, power and spin.

Walking tennis

  • Who is it for? Players who are less able to move, retired tennis players who miss it but are no longer physically capable to play, people who would like some fun gentle fitness

  • What is it? Walking tennis is an adapted, lower-intensity version of tennis designed for inclusivity, where players must walk instead of run or jump, and the ball is allowed to bounce twice.
