COVID Guidelines for players & parents
COACHING GROUPS SAFELY WITH i2c March 2021

PRE-ATTENDANCE SYMPTOM CHECK
All participants in sessions should undergo a pre-attendance self-assessment for any COVID-19 symptoms using the information on the NHS website before leaving home. https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/symptoms/
No-one should leave home to participate in tennis if they, or someone they live with, has symptoms of COVID -19, currently recognised as any of: - A high temperature - A new, continuous cough - A loss of, or change to, their sense of smell or taste https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/symptoms/
Should an individual have demonstrated any such symptoms, they must follow NHS and PHE guidance on self-isolation
GROUPS & COURTS
• Group Coaching can operate with up to a max. of 15 children per session, however, our sessions run with either a max. of 6 for Focus Groups and 12 for Training Groups.
• 2m social distancing in place where possible for players, parents and coaches (1m+ is acceptable for short periods of time)
• Players bring their own drink and place it at the edge of the court as directed by their coach
• Drills will be set up and clearly explained by the coach so that players know where to position themselves safely
• Players will be spaced out over as many courts as possible to ensure social distancing
HYGIENE
• All players use toilet and wash hands with soap BEFORE leaving their house to travel to their venue
• All players apply hand sanitiser immediately before and after stepping onto court and regularly throughout each session
• Sessions may finish a couple of minutes early to allow for changeover to next group
• Players remain outside the court boundary until the previous session (if there is one) have left the premises/area adjacent to the court(s)
• All coaches will apply hand sanitiser before, after and during every coaching session
• All attendees are encouraged not to touch their faces
EQUIPMENT
• Tennis balls can be handled by players
• There will be minimal handling of any coaching equipment used (e.g. cones) by players
• Adjusting the net – only the coach will do this
GENERAL
• Guardian (non-participant) or carer attendance is permitted and is not counted as part of the maximum group size, but should be off court and limited to one per child, with social distancing strictly observed while watching the session.
