Tennis Lancashire are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Allen Brotherton.

Allen was a huge part of tennis in the County over the years, as a coach, referee and volunteer. He was much loved by tennis players and parents and he will be missed greatly by so many people.

Along with his wife Doreen, Allen was a very popular figure at venues and events across Lancashire and played a key role in developing a love of the sport for so many people whom he came into contact with.

Since the news broke of Allen's death, there has been an outpouring of both sadness and fond memories which shows the true impact of his time in tennis.

Tennis Lancashire and all our staff and volunteers pass on our deepest condolences to Doreen and the rest of Allen's family.
