Last weekend saw the annual LTA 18 & Under County Cup events take place with the boys competing in Bristol and the girls at Bolton Arena.

18 & Under Girls

Team            Libby Birchall,  Leslieba Inko-Tariah, Naina Kapoor, Mariam Meftah, Elizabeth Rimmer, Mia Tinsley, Zara Todd and Daisy Wootton.

The girls had the benefit of a home venue of Bolton Arena and took on Hertfordshire on Friday, after a mix of results in singles the team lost all of the doubles matches but two of them in close match tie break situations. Saturday saw the Lancashire girls play a strong East of Scotland team with a 3-6 loss and lots of 3 set matches. Sunday saw the girls take on local rivals Cheshire with the team determined to win the fixture. The team came out strong 7-2 winners and finished the weekend on a high.

18 & Under Boys

Captain:             Andy Davies     Assistant Captain:          Terry Parkes

Team             Zach Allen, Thomas Burnley, Harry Jackson, Kjell Jendis, Oliver Lawton, Oliver Nicholls, Charlie Pickard & Sam Tyrer.

The team made the long trip down to Bristol on Thursday ahead of their first match against Hertfordshire on Frirday morning. The young team suffered a 2-7 loss. Saturday saw the team take on annother strong Kent side and a 2-7 loss. Sunday saw the team play Avon with the team losing. A great effort on a tough weekend for the boys but great learning for everyone.
