Last weekend saw the annual LTA 12 & Under County Cup Finals take place at Nottingham Tennis Centre. Due to the girl's rankings they qualified straight into the finals along with 7 other Counties.

Team           Amarachi Ikem, Jia Kochhar, Esha Kumar, Chloe  Lau and Vanessa Zelca

The Girl's who were competing at Nottingham Tennis Centre arrived on Thursday night and were ready and raring to go on Firday morning. The team took on Derbyshire and won 6-0. The girls finished their day playing the singles against Surrey and 1-3 down over night. Saturday morning saw the team win 1 doubles and loose 1 to finish the fixtre against Surrey loosing 2-4. Next up was Yorkshire with the girls winning comforatbly in the singles with the team 3-1 up. The Yorkshire team were strong in the doubles winning both the matches, one in a match tie break to level the score at 3-3. This meant a doubles shoot out to 10 points with one player from each doubles pariing was played. Lancashire lost.  

The team finished 3rd in their group and went onto play against Berkshire on Sunday to decide who finished 5th adn who finished in 6th place. This fixture saw a total of 10 tie breaks being played and was a very closely faught contest! The score was 2-2 after the singles with Amarachi winning in a match tie break. Lancashire then one 1 doubles and lost 1 doubles both in match tie breaks to level the score at 3-3. Another doubles shoot out took place which Lancashire won meaning the Lancashire Girl's finished in 5th place.
