Last Sunday saw the final Annual General Meeting for the now closed Tennis Lancashire followed by our annual Tennis Lancashire Awards. The event held at Markland Hill Rackets Club, Bolton saw people from around Lancashire come together and celebrate the achievements and hardwork of many clubs, volunteers and coaches.
Numerous Tennis Lancashire Awards nominated and judged by the Tennis Lancashire Judging panel were presented.
ADULT TEAM OF THE YEAR – The Albert Ladies First Team
JUNIOR TEAM OF THE YEAR - Lancashire 10 & Under Girls County Cup Team
JUNIOR PLAYER OF THE YEAR - Naina Kapoor
SPECIAL SERVICE AWARD – Peter Horrocks. Peter retired his role of Tennis Lancashire Treasurer at this AGM after over 20 years of service to Tennis Lancashire and over 60 years volunteering with tennis in Lancashire.
These winners were nominated by Lancashire players, venues, parents and family. The Tennis Lancashire Judging panel then decided the overall winners.

School of the Year Award - St Malachy's RC Primary School
University of the Year Award - University of Manchester Tennis Club
Connecting Communities Award - Burnley Tennis Club

Official of the Year Award - Mike McBrien
Volunteer Of The Year Award - Nancy Claesen - St Michaels on Wyre Tennis Club
Development Coach of the Year Award - John Lister – Markland Hill
Performance Coach of the Year Award - Jonathan Kinsella – The Northern
Club of the Year Award - The Albert Bowling and Tennis Club
Lifetime Achievement Award – Kep Simcox. This award was award posthumously for his many years of service to tennis Lancashire at his local club Penwortham LTC, his local league The Fylde League and also at Tennis Lancashire. Kep held many positions but latterly was chair of the Competition Committee. His award was collected by his brother and close friend (see picture).
