Our 9 & Under Boys team who qualified for the National Finals earlier in the month travelled to Nottingham on Sunday 15th March to take part in the LTA County Cup event. 

9 & Boys Team - Captain Callum Baddeley , Assistant Jack Parker

Players - James Farley, Oliver Pearson, Bensley Russell , Stefan Wierszyllowski

and Olafs Zvaigznitis.

The team knew this was going to be a step up from the qualiyfing event and were prepared for battle. The boys took on South Wales first, a match they won on a match shoot out after splitting the singles and doubles rubbers. Next up was local rivals Cheshire who we knew from the frienldy match played in the New Year had a strong team, the boys lost 1-5 with Olafs winning his singles match. Leicestershire were the team's next opponents where the boys hung tight to win 5-1 winning 3 out of 4 tie break sets. The boys last match of the day was West of Scotland which saw another 5-1 loss but with 4 of the matches going to tie breaks. 

The boys finished a commendable 4th place after a long day of tennis. 

Well done to all the players and parents, a long day of tennis and great learning experience.
