North Wales U14 Girls
14U County Cup 4-6th May 2019
Malvern
The North Wales 14U Girls team this year was made up of Aditi Chezchian, Lili Harvey-Hemming, Jemimah Choi, Seren Smale and Lacie Parry. We had a tough start against Yorkshire, the team that eventually went on to qualify for the National Finals and although we lost 6-0 we played some great tennis and were competing well with a very strong county. The second day saw us take on North of Scotland and although the matches were a lot closer we eventually lost 5-1. Aditi and Lili winning a 3rd set tie-break to pick up our first win of the weekend. Going into Day 3 with a win under our belt gave us the confidence to start strong against Derbyshire with Jemimah and Seren winning their first singles convincingly followed by Aditi winning her match at the number 1 position. Lili had a really tough match against a tricky opponent and just lost out 11-9 in the third set tiebreak. The doubles play from this team has improved considerably over the years which made the last doubles matches fairly straight forward wins for Aditi and Lili and Jemimah and Seren. This is a great team which I have had the pleasure of captaining for the last 3 years. Still a lot of learning to do but has great potential as they move into the U18 age group.
