Guernsey Lawn Tennis Association

The Governing Body of tennis in the Bailiwick of Guernsey is known as the Guernsey Lawn Tennis Association "GLTA". The GLTA is consituted as a Voluntary Association and a charity. The GLTA is affilalitated to the National Governing Body for British Tennis. All tennis Clubs within the Bailiwick of Guernsey are members of GLTA. 

Lauren Barker - Tennis Development Officer (TDO)

The role of the TDO is jointly funded by the Guernsey Lawn Tennis Association (GLTA) and the Guernsey Sports Commission. Its role is to encourage juniors to discover tennis and focuses primarily on schools.  Once bitten the juniors are offered various coaching courses, especially those promoted by the LTA, such as LTA Youth, an exciting new initiative. Lauren is a County player and a level 3 coach.  The GLTA has a clear path of tennis development for those juniors showing interest and talent, all the way up to County training. Heather Watson started as a junior in Guernsey and is now a recognised international player.
