News June 2026 - Tennis Club

Firstly, many thanks to Peter Burgess, who has handed over the Tewin Tennis Club pen to me; a hard act to follow.

As the saying goes, the club is small but perfectly formed, family-friendly, very reasonably priced, with 2 fantastic courts plus a practice court, and offers coaching should you wish it. The club is holding an open day on 5th July, where you are welcome to turn up, have a bit of a knock-around, meet some members and the coach, and see if you fancy joining us.

Wednesday Social Tennis has started up again for the season. All members are welcome to turn up at 7.00 pm each Wednesday for friendly, open‑to‑all games arranged on the night, depending on participant preferences. It’s a great way to meet other club members and get an impromptu game.

Coming up, there are plans for a junior tennis camp 27-29th July. Look out for details at the school, in Tewin Chat and on the club noticeboard.

The annual ABC competition (a friendly team competition internal to the club) gets underway on 29th May, weather permitting. Four teams of ladies and four teams of men each field one pair to play a doubles match every Friday at 7.00 pm in a league, culminating in the final to be held on 7th August.
