Ok, so everyone thought it was rigged that team GB beat Italy, France, Ukraine and New Zealand to take the Thame Chairman's Day Davis Cup tournament on Sunday. It was total coincidence that my name was picked out of the hat to play for GB and that the winners medals already had Union Jack ribbons on them!

What can I say, except that Ruth Tupper did an excellent job organising a brilliant morning's tennis that included seven guest players from Long Crendon Tennis Club. And thanks to Thame bowls club for providing Chris, the barman, to supply well needed drinks after a marathon 3 1/2 hours of competitive tennis.
