Second outting for Ladies A, another away match to Riverside this week. Liezl reunited with her old doubles partner from 2000-2008, BUT on the other side of the net . Frankie and Estella played at 2 and faced Karina and Liz first who masterfully used the Astro and secured their 6-2, 6-0 win for Riverside. Freya and Liezl at 1 for Thornden faced Carolyn Barry and Kay and secured that rubber for Thornden with a 6-1, 6-2 win. Everything to play for and old rivals faced one another again. Frankie and Estella put up a hard fight to take Carolyn and Kat to a first set tie break. Unfortunately it didn’t go Thornden’s way here. 7-6, 6-2 to Riverside. Freya and Liezl meanwhile took on Karina and Liz. Thornden took the first set 6-3. All going well and then Astro mastery kicked in for Riverside . Riverside took the second set 7-5. A must win tie breaker next. Riverside were serving at 9-8 but Freya and Liezl held their nerve and managed to secure the 11-9 tie breaker win to bring the score to 2-2.
