THE TLTC WEBSTER MORTON TOURNAMENT 2025 by Angela Rezki

The popular Webster /Morton tournament was held on the 22nd of June. The tournament is held for all non-first team players and had 16 entrants, 8 men 8 women.  Players were placed in two groups and changed partners every round all trying to have the best individual score of games to reach the semi-finals.

Some excellent tennis was played with long rallies {lots of lobs from Mr Morton) interesting shots and great volleys. All providing fantastic entertainment for the large number of spectators………better than the queens final!

After all the scores being calculated the semi-finalists were

Lewis and Debora v Grant and Katie

Judy and Luke Latham v Phill and Helena

One of the semi-finals was played with Grant and Katie reaching the final –well done to them.

Unfortunately, the other semi-final will be played on a different date with the final being played at the club Finals Day in September.

The sun shone, all enjoyed the BBQ and food. The committee had also agreed to hold a cake sale for the Overgate big build appeal with some mouth-watering cakes raising a fantastic £436.
