About us

Todmorden is a busy little town of approx 15,000 inhabitants situated in the Calder Valley of the West Yorkshire Pennines; once a mill town but now boasting a diversity of peoples, interests and businesses.

Todmorden Lawn Tennis Club is situated on a hillside site with views across the valley, enjoyed most on sunny days playing an American Tournament with a BBQ! It is a small, friendly and active club which welcomes new members and caters for all levels of ability.

Todmorden Lawn Tennis Club is fully constituted, affiliated to the Lawn Tennis Association[LTA] and is a designated Community Amateur Sports Club[CASC].
It also belongs to the Calderdale Community Tennis Partnership which along with other clubs actively promotes the playing of tennis especially with young people.

The Club facilities are two shale courts and a clubhouse. It has an open membership and welcomes tennis players of all abilities. A typical week would include a Ladies evening, match nights, practice for all and junior sessions. Our junior tennis sessions are popular and young players have gone on to represent the Club and Calderdale. During the season the club also runs its own tournaments and enters teams in the Coyle Cup and Presidents Trophy league tournaments in which the Club has enjoyed some success over the years.

As a social and tennis playing occasion, every month the club has an American tournament usually with a BBQ. In August an end of season meal at a local inn, celebrates the Club’s successes and in October the “President's Evening” is held in the clubhouse with food, fancy dress and lots of laughter.

Todmorden Lawn Tennis Club holds its traditions of management, playing and socialising as important and looks to the future by encouraging young members to participate and by the development of facilities and playing opportunities.

If you like the idea of such a club then join us, we look forward to meeting you.
