Competitions
Trowbridge Westbourne Tennis Club provides lots of opportunities to play competitively, be it in local leagues or internal club run events, here's what's on offer for adults:
Club Closed Tournament – This annual internal competition decides the Club Champions in the categories of Men’s and Women’s Singles/Doubles as well as Mixed Doubles and some veteran categories. The event is active from June with the final’s weekend in September
Chippenham & District League – A wide range of Club and Intermediate players can enjoy competitive doubles action in this Summer League (April – July) with 11 teams from TWTC involved in home and away fixtures on Monday (Mixed) Wednesday, & Thursday (Men's/Women's) evenings. Dan Smith Memorial –1st Sunday in May, an afternoon tournament that was inspired by a young up-and-coming member who lost his life at an early age. This is a very relaxed, fun tournament that does, at some stage, result in a men's and women's winner.
Various Additonal Inclusive Fun Competitions all year round - In addition to the above we have around 5 other social competitions
TWTC Singles Box League – All-year-round singles matches
Local LTA National League - The club enter teams in this singles county competition for juniors and adults; winners go on to national level
For Juniors - There is an element of competition within coaching sessions; we can also help advise on LTA local and national sanctioned tournaments. The junior pathway overseeen by our committee, enables those juniors that are ready to enter some of the adult competitions above too.
Play Your Way To Wimbledon - An annual tournament that we can sign post juniors; winners go to county level and then on to national level
