Postponed from the spring, the much anticipated  wooden racquets tournament took place thanks to Rob. The winners were Chris Midgley,  Steph and Philippa (jointly for the ladies).  The other winners were local physios with many a sore elbow to rub back to normal the next day. Boy, those racquets are slow and cumbersome. A nod to the great champs of yesteryear who were able to  play more than 3  consecutive shots with them. The no-let rule and sudden death deuce caught out many and helped move the tournament along every 7 games with mixed partners.
