Let the fun begin !
VRTC has a very active and vibrant social side with a variety of organised and less formal events arranged throughout the year. Some recent events are listed below and the accompanying pictures in the PHOTO GALLERY above show that we like to have fun and try to involve all members of the club. A liking for fancy dress, fancy food, late evenings and a wish to let your hair down seem to be a recurring theme.
We are very fortunate to have our new club house which provides an excellent setting for post match debate, liquid refreshment and even a game of table tennis when desired. It's also a great place to meet, mix and chat on our tennis tournament days both within the club and when hosting matches with other clubs.
Membership of VRTC includes membership to the Veryan Sport and Social club which, apart from having the benefit of a bar, also organises a series of social events throughout the year. The bar and local pub in Veryan form part of the less formal side of the social arrangements of the tennis club.

Wild West Tornament : May 2017
The biggest Wild West extravaganza this side of the Mississippi took place last Sunday at Veryan tennis club. The weather was great, the tournament was well attended and the food was not to be missed. The invitation to dress up was well received (see pic on home page) in one game we had a cowboy and a cowgirl playing against a sheriff and Hiawatha. What fun! The numbers allowed us all to play doubles against each other, with tense semi finals and a well fought out final. Thanks to Barbara for organising a great tournament.

SOCIAL EVENTS 2016
The Beach BBQ:
Held in June was a tremendous success, although the weather was on the chilly side, once the fire roared into action the fun could begin. Games on the beach included : Volley Ball, Rounders, Tug - of - War and Boules (courtesy of Binky). The food was great and the music was laid back and funky - the evening grooved on way past midnight and a great time was had by all. Check out the photos under PHOTO GALLERY above.
