Junior Coaching
Tuesday night is junior night at the club and juniors have priority over the courts. The coaches run a junior night tennis programme catering for all juniors, and also run
a junior coaching programme on a Saturday (see below).The key timings on a Tuesday night include:
4pm-4.45pm Mini Red for ages 8 & under, £6
4.50pm-5.35pm Mini Red (8 & under) and Mini Orange for ages 8 & 9 years, £6
5.35pm-6.20pm Mini Green for ages 10 years, £6
6.30pm-7.30pm Yellow Full Ball for ages 11 to 15 years, £6
7.30pm-8.30pm Performance Squad, £6
There are also Junior Coaching squads on a Monday and Friday from 4pm.

Saturday junior tennis timings are as follows:
08.45am to 09.30am coaching for 4 to 11 year olds
09.30am to 10.00am is the Munchkin clinic for 4 and unders
11.30am to 12.30pm coaching for 11 years and over
In addition to this there are two further Munchkins tennis clinics held on a Monday afternoon (1.30pm and 2pm) for half an hour. Munchkin tennis is for the younger juniors (4 and under). It is an introduction to tennis and designed to be a fun class for the children and to help develop their hand and eye coordination with a mix of games and tennis related exercises. The coaches also organise junior matches against other clubs.
We also have a junior committee who will help the coaches organise junior specific social and fun events during the year.
Events planned include pancake night, Easter egg hunts, junior discos, family BBQs, Halloween party, Christmas party and junior Zumba.

This is required in order to support the club in providing a welcoming and safe environment for all children and young people and in the implementation of its child protection policy and procedures.
All staff, volunteers and members agree to:
Prioritise the well-being of all children and adults at risk at all times
Treat all children and adults at risk fairly and with respect
Be a positive role model. Act with integrity, even when no one is looking
Help to create a safe and inclusive environment both on and off court
Not allow any rough or dangerous behaviour, bullying or the use of bad or inappropriate language
Report all allegations of abuse or poor practice to the club Welfare Officer
Not use any sanctions that humiliate or harm a child or adult at risk
Value and celebrate diversity and make all reasonable efforts to meet individual needs
Keep clear boundaries between professional and personal life, including on social media
Have the relevant consent from parents/carers, children and adults before taking or using photos and videos
Refrain from making physical contact with children or adults unless it is necessary as part of an emergency or congratulatory (e.g. handshake/high five)
Refrain from smoking and consuming alcohol on court or during coaching sessions
Ensure roles and responsibilities are clearly outlined and everyone has the required information and training
Avoid being alone with a child or adult at risk unless there are exceptional circumstances
Refrain from transporting children or adults at risk, unless this is required as part of a club activity (e.g. away match) and there is another adult in the vehicle
Not abuse, neglect, harm or discriminate against anyone; or act in a way that may be interpreted as such
Not have a relationship with anyone under 18 for whom they are coaching or responsible for
Be acutely aware of the power that coaches and coaching assistants develop over players in the coaching relationship and avoid any intimacy (sexual or otherwise) with players
Doing nothing is not an option; Report any concerns and disclosures as soon as possible, if someone is in immediate danger call the police (999)
The Code of Conduct should be interpreted in a spirit of integrity, transparency and common sense, with the best interests of children and adults at risk as the primary consideration.
Concern Reporting Procedure
Anyone who is concerned about the wellbeing of a child/adult at risk, or has a disclosure of abuse or neglect made to them must complete the LTA’s online concern form which can be found here.
