Despite the poor weather forecast, it was decided to continue with the fixture, much to the delight of our players who were looking forward to it. There were some really close matches, tie-breaks and third set deciders - even a retirement from the opposition when Jasoer was a set and two games up.  The match had it all, breathtaking, nail biting and enthralling - both sides  fair and enthusiastic. The viewing parents really enjoyed the spectacle developing in front of them.

The Victoria Avenue team of Jasper, Martin,Jake and Jack won by 5 rubbers  to 1 to go top of the league.

New friends were made and Southbourne enjoyed it so much, they hoped we can have a friendly in the Autumn.  Thanks to Lesley- our 12U Youth league captain.

Oh, by the way - they just managed to best the rain as well!
