Victoria Avenue: General Club Information

Welcome to our club – we hope you enjoy your time with us and to help you through the process this is a guide to what the club can offer.

Victoria Avenue is one of the oldest tennis clubs in Dorset and in 2010 we celebrated our centenary. We have, at present seven courts four laid with artificial grass with floodlighting and three macadam -two doubles (also floodlit) and one singles court. Plus our KIDZONE -a separate Mini Tennis Red court and our practice wall court including a further Mini Tennis court.

Our great coaching team is second to none in the county, we are proud to have dedicated individuals who engage with all ages and capabilities. They are licensed and affiliated coaches which mean they have reached high standards not only in coaching tennis but also in child welfare, safeguarding, first aid and are up to date with their DBS checks but are also fully insured with the LTA. Providing both Adult and Junior and Mini tennis coaching.   

We are affiliated to the Dorset LTA and play our competitive matches in the Dorset Leagues both in the summer and winter. We hold an annual club tournament, for both our senior and junior sections and a Junior LTA sanctioned Grade 3 open tournament known as the Darren Toop Tournament.

Come along and try us out before you make up your mind we can even supply the racquet!

Victoria Avenue has celebrated it's Centenary Year indeed, Norman Shelley has been a member at the club and playing for over 50 years!  We are a welcoming and friendly club - come along and try us out....you too may stay for 50 years and counting!
