Winter League Summary by Simon Witts

The winter season for our league teams has (almost) come to an end, with the most impressive feat being that all of our teams managed to play all of their fixtures despite the weather! Over the winter, we have two mixed teams, two women's teams and two men's teams.

Mixed B are promoted again!

Starting with the biggest success story, our mixed B team won the division 6 title in their first season last winter and followed that up this season with the second promotion on the bounce.

They finished second in division 5 behind Newton Abbot, just one point off the top spot, meaning they'll be playing in division 4 come next season.

Our mixed A team also had a successful season, finishing second in the top division, 7 points behind a strong Seaton side.

Our women's B team had a difficult start to the season, winning just 1 game from their first 6 fixtures. They came back strongly though, winning all 6 of their remaining games to finish in third place in division 2.

Our women's A team were in division 1, and they will be there again next year after a solid season, finishing in fourth and well clear of relegation.

Our men's teams also had strong finishes to the season. The B team won their last 3 fixtures to finish in fourth place in division 2.

The A team won their last 6 fixtures, and in fact they only lost 1 match all season. Unfortunately, that was to the eventual winners Seaton, who beat them to the top spot in division 1 by 8 points.

There's no break for our team players, with the summer season starting straight away. In the summer we have two mixed teams, two women's teams and five men's teams.
