This is the first year that Warwickshire has entered a team in the Ladies 75+ event. At the start of the season we sent an email to all clubs asking for ladies who would be interested in playing for the team. We only had one reply but with the 8 names we already had it made a squad of 9 players. We started well with a win over Hampshire, albeit it was only by one game. We then went to Kent in the pouring rain and were soundly beaten by a very experienced team who eventually went on to win our league. Our next fixture was against Middlesex but they had already withdrawn from the competition before it started as they couldn’t raise enough players. The following match was against Buckinghamshire at the picturesque Halton Tennis Centre. Unfortunately on a beautifully sunny day we had to play inside and lost 3 – 1.

Our next fixture was against Shropshire played indoors on a rainy day at Edgbaston Priory and resulted in a 3 – 1 victory. Our last match was scheduled for the beginning of September against Devon but due to illness they had to concede. This brought the final tally to 3 won 2 lost.
