Wellow once again provided the most pairs for the annual Sarum Tournament with 3 pairs in the A event and 2 in the B event. In the A event Wellow finished the round robin stage in the top 3 spaces with Ben Wallis & Cathy Tarvin winning 5 of 6 and both Laurent Watremetz & lucy Pratt and Stu & Jeannette Martin finishing on 4 wins. Stu and Jeanette progressed to the final due to their win over Laurent and Lucy earlier in the day, facing the 2017 champions Ben and Cathy and hoping to make up for their round robin defeat. In an incredibly close and tense final Jeanette and Stu won on a tiebreak 12 points to 10 to become the 3rd different Wellow pair to win in the last 3 years. In the B Event last years champs, Steve Pugh and Simone Arnott couldn't recreate their 2017 magic unluckily losing 2 matches on tiebreaks. Andy Hart and Elaine Pickering started off slowly but eventually found form winning both the Semi final and final 6-4 to make it 2 wins in 2 years for Wellow in the B-event. Well played again Wellow!
