What do I need to do to become a club member?

To become a member of Wells Town Tennis Club you will need to visit the membership page and dowload both the Membership form and Contact Data Authorisation form. Please follow the instructions therein.

NOTE: It is advised that all members join the LTA to get British Tennis Membership which entitles you to automatic entry into the clubs Wimbledon Draw. Choose the FREE Club Lite Membership option and use Wells Town Tennis Club as the registered venue option. You may choose to upgrade to LTA Team Memebership if you wish.

How do I access the tennis courts and clubhouse?

Once you complete the joining process you will be provided with both key codes and instructions on how to enter the club facilities.

How do I book a tennis court?

We have introduced an online booking system for both members and non-members.

When can I reserve a court?

Adult Club members may make up to 3 reservations (of 1 or 2 hours) between the hours of 8AM until 9PM in any 7 day period up to 14 days in advance. Junior club members can do similar but for a maximum of 1 hour per reservation. All club member court bookings are free having become a registered online member.

Non-members may reserve courts up to 7 days in advance between the hours of 9AM until 5PM at a price of £7.50 per hour via the same booking page. After selecting the date/time you wish to reserve, you will need to follow the instructions to make a secure online payment after which point you will receive an e-mail with instructions of how to gain access to the courts.

At what times are the courts not available for booking?
The courts are marked on the website booking page when they are available or in use.

When will I need to renew my tennis membership?
If you wish to renew your membership, you will be asked to do so in late March/early April each year. Annual membership runs from 1 April to 31 March (inclusive).

Does the Club organise social doubles sessions?
Generally the club runs a social group on Sunday mornings from 10AM until 1PM and also on Wednesday afternoons from 5PM until 9PM however, these sessions have been postponed during the COVID-19 pandemic.

How much would it cost if I’d like to bring along a guest?
Guests of members may play no more than three times per year. The cost is £2 per person, per session.

How do I sign up for Club newsletters?
The Club committee will send out regular newsletters to promote junior and adult coaching, team and social play and tournaments. Information can also be found on Facebook.

What happens if I am the last person at the Club?
During the COVID-19 pandemic, please leave set at the correct height and do not winde them down. Please also ensure the court gate is padlocked shut. Ensure that the pavilion doors are locked, water taps and lights are switched off, with ALL keys returned to the key safe and key code jumbled. Close the main gate and ensure the padlock is closed with key code jumbled.

How do I enter the Wimbledon Tickets Ballot at the club?
Sign up for a LTA British Tennis Membership, linking your profile to ‘Wells Town Tennis Club’. You will have until around 21 February to register online in the club ballot (no exceptions). The draw for tickets will be made in early May each year, on membership renewal day.

If I’d like to recommend a friend or family member to join, how much is annual club membership?
There are a variety of membership packages: Adult: £55; Couple: £110; Junior: U18 £10. There are no additional joining fees.
