Defibrillator now on-site at Westbury Park Tennis Club

Following discussion at the 2024 AGM, the Club has now purchased a defibrillator for the club.  This life-saving device is used to get the heart beating again when someone is in cardiac arrest. While we hope that it will never be needed, we also want every club user to know where it is stored and how to use it.

Our defibrillator is stored in the clearly labelled first aid cupboard, to the left of the fridge.

If someone collapses on court, remember that the first thing you do is call 999 for help. The call handler will guide you through what to do and whether the defibrillator is needed and how to use it if it is.

If you want to familiarise yourself with the equipment, the British Heart foundation webpage has really useful guidance CPR and defibrillators: how to save a life  - BHF

We are grateful to the LTA and Avon LTA for providing the grants that enabled us to buy this lifesaving piece of kit at a significantly discounted price.

Catherine is happy to show people how to use the equipment so they feel more confident about using it. A few cohorts of participants have already gone through the training, as seen in the photo above.
