Junior Membership

Membership
Children aged 7+ should be members of the club to participate in the programme.

Please note that this applies to juniors age 7 upwards. The club do not expect pre schoolers or those aged 5 or 6 to join although they are welcome to if they wish. We also welcome new participants to take a block of lessons first to check that they enjoy the experience before signing up to the club.

The costs are £7/ month for those aged 9 - 17 years and £5/ month for 4 - 8 year olds. More info can be found HERE and the link to join can be found HERE. Once you complete the link the membership convenor will be in touch with options of how to pay. There is a waiting list for adult members at the moment but children who are part of the programme can join immediately with no joining fee.

Once junior members can serve, rally and score they can access junior club teams and book courts and play outwith the lessons. We will run Family tennis sessions throughout the year which will be for members and for preschoolers and 5 and 6 year olds and their families that participate in the programme.

Gym
Children are allowed to join the gym once they have reached the age of 14. We understand that other gyms allow children access to the gym at a younger age but Western club insurance does not permit that. Once they reach 14, children are allowed to use the gym as long as a parent or guardian is in the building. When they reach 16, they can use the gym independently. The exception to this is if the children are participating in a gym class. If interested in finding more about these, please email westerntenniscoachingclub@gmail.com

Club Etiquette
Children are welcome to play in the patio/ mini court area of the club outside of lesson times. However we kindly request that children under 12 are supervised by parents at all times around the club when they are not in lessons. Children under 14 are not permitted in the gym at any time (see gym section above) unless they are in a gym class with an instructor.

If you have any questions, please email westerntenniscoachingclub@gmail.com or speak to one of the senior coaches at the club.
