Weston Tennis club held its annual autumn junior tournament kindly sponsored by Christopher's House of Chocolates with groups of young players battling it out in three separate events. These were well attended and the spectacular weather was matched by some of the tennis on show.

The Under 10s event was played in a round-robin format, which eventually led to a final between Mikey Opogah and Yuna Byron. This was a great clash of defence vs offence with Yuna going for the big shots and Mikey constantly making her play another ball. It proved to be a close match with Mikey emerging as the winner.

The Under 14s event was contested by Yuna Byron and Zach Angear. In the single set match Yuna proved a bit too strong for her opponent and won by a score of 6-0.

The Under 18s final was keenly contested between Julia Maciejczyk and Marcus Llewellyn. In what proved to be a game of quality tennis Marcus claimed the title in straight sets 6-2 6-3.

Head coach Jamie Allen presented the trophies and congratulated all of the entrants who had each played their part in making it a very good junior tournament day. The club were very grateful to their sponsor Christopher Hawkins, Master Chocolatier, based at 43 Meadow Street, for his generous support.
