2. Minutes of the Last Meeting:
Minutes of the last meeting were read by Henry Farrar and Approved by all.
3. Chair Report:
Congratulations the Ladies C team who won the league with 99.5 points and have been promoted to Division 1. Congratulations to the Open C Team who was promoted to the next division.
Club night is a huge success and we constantly have a good number of members every night. A big thank you to Bill Morris and Anne Geldeard who continue to make these nights a success.
A practice wall is in process of being built and will be suited at the far end of court 1 on the right hand side. Thank you to Brent for making this happen.
Courts are in good conditions and there will not need resurfacing this year. The new lights have been successful. If anyone has any issues with them; can they please contact Henry Farrar.
Defibrillator training went really with 16 attendees. Thank you to Rory Ferguson and Steve Clarke for organising this. Possibilities of another one to be organised in 18 months time or early if it is in demand.
Henry thanked the committee for all their help throughout the year.
Overall it was a very good year.

Henry also thanked all those who served as Team Captains during 2024 season. A few decisions and discussion need to be made to determine some of the captains for the upcoming season.

5. Membership Report 2025/2026
In loving memory of Glenis Pickering who sadly passed away on 14th February 2025. She was a loved member of Whalley Tennis Club and enjoyed playing tennis with all the ladies and going Henry’s coaching lessons. She will be sadly missed by all.
Membership 2024/25 Year - 224 Paid Members and 238 Active Members. Paid members - 103 Females and 121 Males. Total Revenue - £16,630
Membership Prices have been increased slightly. The new prices are:
Adults - £126
Senior (Over 65) - £105
Junior - £42
Student - £42
Young Adults (Up to 30 years old - Changed from 28 years old) - £53
2 Adults and Children - £257
1 Adult and Children - £168
Country Membership - £30 (playing for a maximum of 3 months)
Parent Associate Membership - £16
New membership starts of 1st April.
Other Club Fees:
Match Fees - £3 per player per match
New parking permits are ready and can be collected from either Steve and Natalie Driver or Anne Geldeard.
Steve Driver said that once again this year he intends to collect subscriptions using the LTA Clubspark system & the BACS’s payment system.
Combination lock code won’t be changed. Keys will be changed for the club house and then reissued by Steve Driver or Anne Geldeard.
6. Treasures Report
Andrew Geldeard circulated a report and provided the key financial details. The income in the year to 31/10/2024 has decreased by 20% due to a £5,000 grant we received in 2023. Total expenditure has increased by 13% due to various maintenance costs, giving a total expenditure for the year of £18,666.
Income from the car park machine has decreased due to Breda Murphy closing. Need to investigate increasing the price of the ticket machine and the licensing agreement around issuing tickets for non-members parking their cars.
Henry thanked Andrew for preparing the accounts and for his work in this area.

7. Building, Grounds, Maintenance and Security
Steve Clarke is interested in being involving with the club house and moving it so it is adjacent to Court 2 where the grass is. A lot of responsibility and maintenance is needed to improve the club house. Discussing we had to maybe have a table tennis table inside.
Thank you to Hannah and Anne who continually clean and remove the rubbish which is left in the cub house.
There have been no issues involving security throughout the year. If you do see anything; please report it to the police.
Henry Farrar to contact the gardener to continue to look after the surrounding areas.
The courts and the paving stones will need as spray.
8. Welfare / Safeguarding
Rory confirmed that there have been no issues relating to safeguarding. All the paperwork is up to date and published on the noticeboard inside the club house.
Rory was thanked by the group for his work in this important area.
9. Proposed Junior Sub Committee
A proposed junior committee was suggested for junior members and their parents. We would need someone to be able to run the junior committee.
10. Club Events
Simon Brown has agreed to run the Lockdown Cup again this year. So good luck to all participants and congratulation to Kelvin Jacks for winning last year.
Club nights are running on a Monday and Thursday evening from 4pm onwards by Bill Morris.
We need volunteers who would be interested in running some American Tournaments; which involve around 12 people.
This year’s Annual Cricket Match will be held again this year and run by Rory Ferguson. Date is yet to be confirmed.
