Club

Presentation to Andrew

Today, Monday 24th of March was the Club’s first Monday Lunch of the year and we chose the moment to say a big ‘thank you’ to our retiring coach of the past several years, Andrew Bird, for his delivery of a first-class coaching service and for the help he has given the committee in club activities and competition planning during his time with us.  Andrew has been an invaluable member of the club and soon after his arrival, it was evident that one of his main aims was the development of a strong Juniors base at the club.  In this he clearly succeeded but this was not due solely to his ability to coach but also on how his friendly personality and style of coaching endeared him to those he coached.  The members are delighted to know that although Andrew is retiring, he is not leaving us and will remain with us as a member.  The occasion was marked by presenting Andrew with engraved glasses.

Andrew will hand over the coaching reins to David Gill with effect from 1st April.   David is no stranger to the club with his wife and children already members.  David is bringing a wealth of experience and high coaching skills to our club and we have no doubt that he will continue with the provision of a first-class coaching service to both our adult and junior members.
