For those who like a challenge, the club organises several opportunities for competitive play throughout the year.

Club Tournaments

Our club tournaments are open to all adult members regardless of experience. They are designed to be fun afternoons where members are paired up to enjoy some friendly competition within a Doubles format. 

We aim to hold several club tournaments throughout the Summer months, so keep an eye on our email communications and the Members' Facebook page for more details. 

Club Ladder Leagues

The club runs  internal ladder leagues throughout the Summer season, which are available to all members and can be joined at any time. Ladder leagues are organised for both singles and doubles play. We use the  TennisRungs app to allow players to  issue and accept challenges and keep track of scores and league positions. This is available as both a mobile app and via a web application.

Club Teams

Wakefield Mixed Doubles League

We currently enter 2 teams into the Wakefield Mixed Doubles League and this is a great opportunity for more experienced players to compete against other clubs around the Wakefield District. 

Each team is made up of two men and two women, with each player competing in 3 one-set matches (2 mixed doubles and 1 single sex doubles). A point is awarded for each set and the total determines the outcome of the match.

Leeds Men's Doubles League

We also have a team in the Leeds Men's Doubles League. Each team is made up of four players, consisting of 2 pairs. Each pair plays 2 sets against each of the opposition team's pairs. A point is awarded for each set and the total determines the outcome of the match.
