Welcome to our July Newsletter.  

The theme for this month is "Bring a pal".  We are encouraging members to bring friends for free to the courts in July. With Wimbledon starting tomorrow the profile of the sport is raised and I remember as a young lad trying to emulate their play at local courts. We encourage you to bring your friends to have a hit and enjoy the sport.  

"Bring a pal" - Saturday 6th July - Club event for juniors and adults 

This Saturday the club will have a "Bring a Pal" event from 12.30 to 4pm. Pawel and I will be there to encourage some play. There will be  some structured activities but also the chance to play and meet with others and have fun. We encourage you to bring a friend to have a hit. There will be some light refreshments available.  

During the summer holidays we will have "Bring a Pal" Junior sessions throughout July. Junior members can bring their friends and have a play. This will be a supervised session with some structured activities. 

These will take place  

Week 1 - Tuesday 9th July from 3pm to 5pm , Thursday 11th July from 3pm to 5pm  

Week 2 - Mon 15 July from 10am to 12noon, Thurs 18 July from 10am to 12 noon 

Week 3 - Tues 23rd July from 10 am to 12noon, Wed 24th July from 3pm to 5pm  

Week 4 - Monday 29th July from 10am to 12noon Wed 31st July from 3pm to 5pm

Junior Summer Camps  

Two weeks of Summer Mini Tennis Camps will run on 8th - 12th July and 12th to 16th August  from 9 -10.30am for 6 - 10 years and over 10. You can contact Pawel for further information or head to Clubspark for booking. 

Pawel is also organising Full day tennis and sport camps from Monday 5th August to Friday 9th August.  

Strawberries and Cream Social  

The Midsummer social was a very successful event and we look forward to our next one on Saturday 20th July at 1.30pm. We will be holding our summer social, Strawberries and Cream which will be organised by Emma Bolland.  You can sign up on SPOND. 

Club Championships 2024  

The final of the Club Championships will now be Saturday 31 August.   

The club champs will run throughout August and is an opportunity for all members to participate in doubles and singles events. If you want to try an event you can put your name down for the mixed handicap and you will be assigned a partner. It's good fun and one of the highlights of the season. 

Look out for the Club championships entry form this week. Closing date for entry will be Saturday 20th July.  

Deeside Social League 2024 - Winners  

Congratulations to the all the ladies who participated in the Deeside Social League. Over five matches, organised by Gillian Budge, they were successful in winning the league this year. Well done.

Maintenance  

The top level of the terracing is being refurbished by Bill Glennie this week and we hope to enjoy the new terrace in the summer.
