Billericay Lawn Tennis Club boasts an impressive array of facilities, one of the few clubs in Essex to have indoor facilities during the winter and one of the fewer clubs to have artificial clay courts.
The aim of the club is to provide outstanding facilities for its members and visitors to play and enjoy tennis at a competitive and social level. Whatever your standard, whether you want to play in our teams or just play in our social tennis sessions, the tennis club tries to cater for all levels of player from the complete beginner to the experienced player.
Our spacious clubhouse and well stocked bar is the perfect place to wind down after a strenuous game of tennis, and its welcoming environment is the perfect place to socialise with other members, friends and family.
We have a thriving membership base of over 200 adults and 300 junior and mini players and and welcome new members with open arms. The club offers different classes of membership from complete beginners to experienced players to suit a variety of standards and needs. New members are always welcome.
Our first-class junior coaching programme, delivered by award-winning coaches, caters for all ages and abilities from complete beginners to national competitors. We have over 350 mini and junior players playing tennis with us each week, and our performance programme currently supports 20+ players on the LTA County & Regional Pathways and National Age Group Programme
Social Tennis
There are three club social play sessions held during the week (Saturdays from 2.30pm and Tuesday & Thursday evenings from 7.30pm). At other times during the week, members can arrange their own play. Adult and Junior social events also run throughout the year.
Leagues
We can provide competitive tennis for all abilities and ages. We have Men’s, Ladies and Mixed teams in the Brentwood & District League and the Stock Winter Floodlit League and Men’s and Ladies teams in the Essex League. For juniors we enter multiple age groups, girls and boys from 8U to 18U, in the LTA Summer and Winter National League as well as the Chelmsford League.
Each year we run Adult & Junior Club Championships events throughout the summer, as well as Winter Cup tournaments towards the end of the year. We also provide box leagues, and internal matchplay events for juniors.
We are proud to host the annual Essex Open LTA Grade 3 tournament at Billericay Lawn Tennis Club during July/August, a hugely popular event with players traveling from all around the region to compete.
The tennis club organises social events for members and guests. Social events include quiz nights, wine tasting which is very popular, darts, table tennis and other social evenings. For details see the social events page or contact the social secretary.
