A fun-packed afternoon of tennis that saw 80 children aged 7-9 years participate. They came in ten by ten from eight different schools – Barns Green, Billingshurst, Loxwood, Plaistow and Kirdford, Rudgwick, Shipley, St Mary’s Pulborough, Wisborough Green – making venue Billingshurst Tennis Club, a bit of a tennis Noah’s Ark for the day.

Greg Rusedski, former world ranked No 4 player and US Open finalist dropped by for a surprise visit much to everyone's delight.  He started with some exhibition play against Billingshurst LTC’s Head Coach, Nigel Matthews, before progressing to some rally and drill based activities that involved children selected from the audience. 

What a day to remember!  One of the BLTC children took part in a rally with Greg and won the point!  A lot of the children had never played tennis before and it was great to see the more experienced ones helping the others.  By the end of the afternoon all the children took part in a competition which saw them eager to win points while remaining good sports!
