Summer Camp Success!

Bishop’s Castle Tennis’ Summer Camp and Free Taster sessions enjoyed magnificent weather and attracted over 30 participants, many playing tennis for the first time.

“What a wonderful ‘Introduction to Tennis’ for our 8 year old granddaughter” said Christine Pattinson. “So well organised, especially in these ‘difficult’ times. All the Government guidelines were met and this small group received excellent coaching and guidance whilst also having fun for a very small cost.”

Charlotte Pattinson, aged 8 said: “I really enjoyed my tennis lessons and made new friends. I wish it had been every day. I want to keep learning to play and I am going to spend my birthday money on my first racquet. We all had good fun. Thank you."

“I’ve brought all three children - twins Daniel and Finlay and sister Molly. I was concerned initially that 2 hours might be too long but they have a break for drinks and snacks half way through each session. Also, I decided that this was their ‘tennis week’ so all the activity was condensed into one week. The twins have always got each other but Molly sometimes struggles to find friends. It’s a small group, which is nice for her.”  said Mum – Wendy. Craig Nicholson and friend who took part in the free Taster Session for adults said: “Very good. We have booked on for the next six coaching lessons starting next week”.

Sue Cooper, Acting Chair responded saying  “We are absolutely delighted by the community response. We had a very short lead in time for organising the all age Taster Sessions and the Junior’s Summer Camp because of the changing Covid-19 rules. We want to build on this success and make them a regular feature of the Autumn, Spring and Summer Half Term holidays as well at the main Easter and Summer holidays. A special thanks to Lucy our coach. And we are developing long term investment plans for improving adult and junior training facilities in Bishop’s Castle. ”

Hector  Hird was the 5 year old Champion - he was amazing!
