President's message

As the new President of Blairgowrie Tennis Club I would like to introduce myself.

My name is Graham Smith, I'm Blairgowrie born and bred and have run my gas servicing business in the town for the last 35 years. I have been a member of the club for around 25 years and am a past president.

The committee and myself are all very motivated to take the club forward, and have lots of people playing tennis, whatever your level.

We are all working very hard to raise funds for the new clubhouse but primarily we want to promote tennis in a friendly and enjoyable environment.

Shortly we will be sending out a programme of social tennis events, mostly taking place at the weekends, which we very much hope you will support.

The weekend of 28 and 29 March has been set aside for tidying up the area around the courts before the start of the season. Even if you can only spare an hour or two we would be very grateful for any help. Please let us know if you can come along.

Finally we will keep everyone updated about fundraising.

I'd be very pleased to hear from anyone with any comments or suggestions. If you are unhappy about anything I'd like to hear about that too, so that we can try to sort out any issues.

Blairgowrie Tennis Club

Welcome to Blairgowrie Tennis Club

A warm welcome awaits for all ages and abilities, members and visitors, at our LTA registered club. We have 5 polymeric, floodlit courts situated at the J.J. Coupar Recreation Park - available all year round. All courts are accessed via 2 gates with coded padlocks. Visitors should use the double gates at court 5 (code emailed at each on-line booking). Members can use either gate depending on courts booked- code changes will be sent out to members via email. Floodlights are available until 10pm when they will automatically switch off.

Please wear appropriate footwear and clothing for playing tennis.

How to Book Courts are available for play at most times and can be pre-booked (free for members) in the BOOKING tab. If floodlights are required, please contact Susan Whiteford 07745 427572, or put a request on the FB page or whatsapp group.

VISITORS are welcome on a pay and play basis by pre-booking a court.

Our adult and junior tennis teams compete in competitons throughout the year. See COMPETITIONS tab for a list of the leagues we typically participate in. Get in touch if you are interested.

C O A C H I N G
We offer a comprehensive progressive programme of adult and junior coaching (discounted for members). For more information see the COACHING tab or contact the coaches. A typical summer timetable is shown below (subject to seasonal change) – please see weekly What’s On email for updates or contact Susan on 07745 427572.

S O C I A L T E N N I S (Club Afternoon/Club Night)
Adults - Open to all ability levels
Generally doubles play where players play with a different partner and oppponents each time. Just turn up or ask to be added to our Play Tennis Blair WhatsApp group (contact Nicola 07746 138464) to find out who else is playing that day.

Monday - 1.30pm
Wednesday - 6.30pm
Friday - 1.30pm

Juniors club night

Friday during the summer 5-6.30
Format: Fun tennis games, Kubb, rounders and Wavio.
