Ball Machine
We have purchased a Slinger T-One Ball Machine for members and coaches to hire. It is quite an expensive piece of kit, so please take care of it and read the following very carefully.
- Before using the ball machine for the first time, you must read the User Manual to familiarise yourself with the machine, its components and its operation.
- The ball machine can be booked and used by the following:
- Adults
- Coaches (Level 2 and above)
- Juniors 14+ with adult supervision
- Juniors 11-13 playing at performance level with adult supervision
- The ball machine can only to be used in dry conditions and when the courts are dry. If used with wet balls the machine will fill with yellow fluff and will be damaged.
- The ball machine can be used on Courts 4, 6, 7, 9, 10 ,12 and 13 only (ie not the middle courts)
- Before booking the ball machine, a court must be booked first
- Booking is made through Clubspark, in the same way you would book a court. The ball machine is the ‘court’ called BM.
- The cost of using the ball machine is £3 per half hour. When you book, you will be asked to fill in your credit card details on Stripe
- If you cancel your booking of the ball machine on ClubSpark before the start of your session, you will be refunded. If you cancel more than an hour before your session was due to start, you will be refunded automatically. However if you have to cancel less than an hour before your session starts, please contact brooklandstennis@outlook.com and a refund will be arranged. Please only cancel at short notice due to the weather.
- Balls are provided with the ball machine. Please ensure that they are all gathered up and returned to the ball machine at the end of your session.
- The ball machine is kept in the locked metal cabinet in the shelter. The padlock code to the grey cabinet can be obtained by emailing brooklandstennis@outlook.com. Please do this in advance of your booking and don't leave it until the last minute. The code for the padlock will change sporadically so you should email before each booking.
- If the battery in the machine is flat for any reason before you start, please follow the instructions on how to replace the battery (see the full User Manual in the cabinet). Please then charge the flat battery (see instructions below, however you plug the lead into the battery direct rather than the machine).
- If the battery is flat or low when you finish, please plug in the machine to the power supply once it is back in the cabinet. You plug it in to the left of the dials on the front. Once you have done that, look outside the cabinet on the right and you will see that it is plugged into a timer. Press on, and keep pressing until the timer gets to 4 hours.
Please email brooklandstennis@outlook.com for:
- faults with the machine or its operation
- flat batteries
- issues with booking, payment or refunds
