Welcome to Cathie Sabin Community Tennis Centre, an indoor community tennis facility based at The Shrewsbury Club. Whether you're a seasoned pro or just picking up a racquet for the first time, our centre offers top-notch facilities, expert coaching, and a warm, inclusive atmosphere for players of all ages and skill levels.

Book a court | Pay & Play

There is no need for a membership at Cathie Sabin Community Tennis Centre. Simply visit our online booking page, select your court & time, and make a booking. Courts are available from £10.00 per hour.

Coaching 

We are partnered with Inspire 2 Coach to deliver a Junior & Adult coaching programme.  The coaching tab on our website provides more information about the timetable and how to book.

Communtiy Programmes

At the Cathie Sabin Community Tennis Centre we are proud of our links within the local community with an aim of opening tennis up & providing a wide variety of accessible and appropriate tennis activities. In partnership with NHS Shropshire we offer a tennis programme specifically to their patients with Serious Mental Illness and walking tennis to support their healthy lives programme. In collaboration with the Tennis Shropshire Wheelchair Group, we offer weekly wheelchair coaching sessions. We are constantly looking to grow our connections with other community groups and if you would like furhter information on how we can open tennis up please contact simon@inspire2coach.co.uk

Key Relationships

The Cathie Sabin Community Tennis Centre could not be possible without the superb relationship between Tennis Shropshire & The Shrewsbury Club. Based at The Shrewsbury Club, the CSCTC was originally championed by the late Bob Kerr (TS Chair & Councillor) & Dave Courteen (TSC Managing Director) with the aim of improving indoor tennis provision in Shropshire for the benefit of local tennis players, the wider community & Shropshire families. The enthusiasm for opening tennis up for the local community has been continued by Fiona Jones (TS Chair) & Simon Jones (Councillor) and alongside Dave and the team at The Shrewsbury Club we are delighted to offer a completely pay & play facility which allows the local community the opportunity to play indoor tennis.
