Come and join us at Caversham Park Tennis Club!

At CPTC, we aim to deliver a positive and friendly tennis experience for everyone.

Organised social sessions, coaching and competitive tennis are all available. Beginners, 'rusty rackets', improvers and advanced players are all catered for.

Members can also make their own arrangements by booking courts online or via the ClubSpark Booker App.

Many of our members refer to CPTC as their 'Happy Place'. Why not let it be your 'Happy Place' too? But we should warn you - this is not just tennis, this is Caversham Park tennis!

Welcome!

Caversham Park Tennis Club is adjacent to Clayfield Copse, off Caversham Park Road, on the outskirts of Reading. Boasting six floodlit porous macadam courts and a spacious purpose-built clubhouse, the club is registered with the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) and offers a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment for everyone to enjoy playing tennis regardless of skill level or background.

The opportunity to play competitive tennis is a big feature of what we offer, but it is not the core philosophy of our club... we seek to provide a friendly and sociable tennis experience for people of all ages and abilities. We encourage our members to engage with one another in a social and competitive atmosphere and our aim is to foster a family-feel culture at the heart of everything we do.

Run by the members for the members, the club welcomes players of all standards from beginners to experienced competitors (and anyone in between). Families and children are very welcome. Diversity and inclusion are embedded in the club's culture. Racism, sexism, homophobia and transphobia are simply not tolerated. Although winning and losing is an integral part of playing sport, our philosophy at CPTC is that if everyone is included, then everyone wins! Respect is the cornerstone of the club - respect for ourselves guides our ethics, respect for others guides our conduct.

Our Safeguarding Policy strives to minimise risk, deliver a positive tennis experience for everyone and guarantee a prompt and appropriate response to all safeguarding concerns/disclosures. The Welfare Officer is Will Jackson (email: cptcwelfareofficer@aol.com).

Match practice sessions take place on Monday evenings. There is an annual club tournament and we also run a singles box league throughout the year.

Juniors

The club's Junior Organiser and the GDTennis coaching team provide excellent opportunities for juniors to enjoy and develop their tennis at the club. The programme includes club sessions for minis and juniors on Tuesdays throughout the summer months (apart from a break during the school summer holidays), singles box leagues, an annual tournament and a junior tennis squad representing the club in external competition.

Coaching by GDTennis

The Gary Drake Tennis coaching team comprises two full-time coaches offering adult and junior individual and/or group lessons for all abilities.
