Cardio Tennis sessions are a great activity with drills to give players of all abilities the ultimate, high energy workout. Each session includes a warm up, cardio workout, and cool down phases. It’s the perfect way to get in shape and burn calories!

There are drills for beginners through to advanced players, all of which provide you with a great cardio workout while improving skill. 

Cardio Tennis can be a unique and fun form of exercise that reaps many benefits:

  • You'll consistently elevate your heart rate into your aerobic training zone

  • It’s much more fun than working out on a machine!

  • Sessions involve short bursts of high intensity workouts and periods of rest, almost like interval training, which burns more calories

  • It’s a fun group activity where players of all abilities can enjoy tennis together

  • If you haven’t played for a while, or don’t know who to play locally, it can be a great way to get back into tennis and meet new people

  • Even though you’re playing tennis, the focus is primarily on getting a great workout

  • You'll naturally improve your game because you hit so many balls and repeat various shots

 

Essential information:

  • These sessions are run on a weekly basis

  • Players should wear comfortable sports clothing and trainers or tennis shoes. 

  • We recommend that players arrive at least 15 minutes before so that they are ready for the start of the session

 

What is a typical class like?

Your trained Cardio Tennis instructor will lead you through a 60 minute class consisting of a short warm up and cool down either side of a 40 minute full body workout.

Warm up - Some dynamic stretching, skills and drills to get your body warm and mind sharp before the workout begins.

Aerobic section - Here’s your chance to hit loads of shots, including forehands, backhands, serves and volleys, all mixed with a variety of fitness activities.

Tennis section - Put your shots into practice with fun tennis games.  You’ll never play one-on-one; your team mates will be with you all the way.

Cool down - Well done, you made it!  Now it’s time to recover and stretch.
