Our first ever SPRING SLAM Tournament took place on Sunday 23rd March 2025.  Isabel and Tom our winners  competed in the final against Jane and Nick in a well-matched entertaining final to  win this new shield.  Their names will be the first to be added to the shield for what we hope becomes an annual fixture.  WELL DONE!

Twelve  mixed pairs played five  heat matches apiece on the two courts in ideal conditions - gently sunny, windless weather - to complete a friendly and agreeably challenging competition.   The rain arrived shortly after.  Great planning!

A huge thank you goes to Kevin for his meticulous organisation, (and his influence in high places with the weather).  The tournament took place seamlessly!

Thank yous go to Clare for foregoing play to keep score throughout as well as ushering players onto court as their turns arose;  to Maureen for organising the refreshments which added great pleasure and necessary sustenance; to Judy, Rachel and Jackie  from the Acland Hall fundraising for the preparation and processional delivery of the sausage rolls.  

The event raised £135 in voluntary donations from players which is a contribution towards the Acland Hall Centenary Celebration fund.  This celebration will be held on 6th September at the Acland Playing Field.
